The SureColor S7160 eco solvent printer will make its Australian debut on Epson stand C48 at PacPrint 2025 from 20 to 23 May 2025 at the Sydney Showgrounds.
Epson unveils its SureColor S7160 eco solvent printer, the latest addition to its next generation of large format signage printers. Building upon the success of the SC-S40600, which has achieved over 11,000 units in global sales, the SC-S7160 is designed, Epson say, to deliver outstanding image quality, productivity, ease of use and reliability.

The SC-S7160, a 4-colour eco-solvent printer, incorporates advanced technologies that improve both user experience and print quality. These include Epson’s 1.33-inch-wide PrecisionCore Micro TFP printhead which facilitates faster printing when compared to its predecessor, the SureColor S40600 at the same pass rate. It can also accommodate a wider print width in a single pass by increasing the number of nozzles from 360 to 400.
The SureColor S7160 utilises a larger 4-colour UltraChrome GS3 800 ml ink pouch system, enabling vibrant and accurate prints on a variety of media types, including vinyl, canvas, film, wallpaper, and other roll media up to 1,626 mm wide.
The transition from 700 ml cartridges to 800 ml ink bags reduces the frequency of ink replacement, while being 84% lighter and generating 91% less waste per bag, aligning with Epson’s sustainability goals.
It includes an advanced auto tension control system and a reinforced media feed roller for high-precision media feeding. Built on a market-proven, robust chassis with an accurate media feed system, the printer also incorporates an air circulation system that removes ink mist, capturing it in filters.
A printhead guard helps prevent media crashes while a new automatic head cleaning system ensures consistent performance.
The S7160 also has several other key functions including a carriage temperature sensor that quickly detects temperature differences, allowing for accurate temperature compensation to minimise colour variations. This feature maintains uniformity between the beginning and end of longer print jobs, compensating for changes in ink temperature and nozzle surfaces caused by the platen heater.
Its 4.3-inch user-oriented interface and touchpad allow users to easily manage ink levels and other functions while its LED lighting feature improves visibility during printing operations, allowing users to monitor the status of the printer.
“Epson continues to expand its signage line up to meet the diverse demands of the market. The SureColor S7160 is a perfect solution for businesses seeking a cost-effective and high-quality signage solution for low-to-medium production volumes” said Shuhei Sato, Product Manager – Professional Print Solutions at Epson Australia.
To further optimise productivity and profitability, the SureColor S7160 integrates with Epson’s management tools, including Epson Edge Print Pro RIP software and Epson Cloud Solution PORT, which provides comprehensive reporting, tracking, and cost analysis. The SureColor S7160 Eco-solvent printer is expected to ship in Australia and New Zealand mid-2025
