Contex upgrade Nextimage software for FADGI compliance

The new Nextimage 6 software means the majority of large format Contex scanner series now exceed FADGI 3-star ratings.

Contex, producer of large format scanners, introduce Nextimage 6. This upgrade to their professional software means the majority of the Contex scanners will exceed FADGI 3-star standards. In the United States, the guidelines for federal agencies’ media preservation have been outlined in the Federal Agencies Digital Guidelines Initiative (FADGI)  to help preserve important files in their original context, which might include imperfections and details that would otherwise be lost.

Nextimage 6 software is designed to bring out unseen details and restore even the faintest originals Contex claim this produces unprecedented levels of colour fidelity, providing greater quality for critical applications that require accuracy and reliability.

“FADGI compliance has been a concern for many of our clients, particularly in the United States,” says Jacob Bendix, Contex’ Global CCO, adding:

“Our commitment to user feedback and ongoing development drives us to meet and surpass these high criteria. FADGI 3-star compliance demonstrates that Contex scanners, when paired with Nextimage 6, provide the best quality for professionals who entrust us with their most important jobs.”

Nextimage 6, created with direct input from Contex’ global community, provides a simplified workflow that allows users to produce superior scans with minimal setup. The software’s new features offer fine control over color and image quality, assuring consistent, professional results with each scan.

“We take the responsibility of developing software for jobs that are critical to organizations around the world very seriously. As a result, one of our primary responsibilities is to listen to our users,” explains Jacob Bendix, Global CCO of Contex.

Nextimage 6 is available free for 30 days either with existing Contex scanners or via the built-in ‘demo scanner’ in the software. Download a 30-day free trial version on https://contex.com/
