FESPA digest 1 : What to see in Berlin 2025

In a couple of weeks, the doors to Fespa 2025 will open. Industry visionaries will be meeting in Berlin and there will be plenty to see as companies show their latest innovations to the world. We’ll be bringing you regular round-ups of what you can expect from some of this year’s exhibitors

Soyang (Stand 4.2-A51) will construct its entire stand out of materials from its own portfolio. This will allow visitors to see first-hand how Soyang solutions perform in a busy exhibition environment. Highlights will include a live showcase of Starlight Backlit FR (ST-601), a woven-based coated backlit fabric, ideal for lightboxes. A large section of the stand’s backdrop will be UV-printed on Starlight Backlit to demonstrate its qualities.

The Soyang team will use dye-transfer printing to create large flags from Knitted Flag FR for the front of the stand. Knitted Flag is a lightweight 100% polyester knit fabric making it suitable for use in partition, indoor decoration and exhibition applications. Other products that will be used to help create the stand include Pura Luxury Backlit (ST-1295), Hera Luxury Backlit (ST-1291) and Diana Soft Backlit Display. Each will feature in large lightboxes on the front of the stand, to capture the attention of those who pass by during the event.

PLASTGrommet (B50, Hall 27) will launch four new solutions for banner and textile finishing including the All In One Edge entry level finishing machine. Offering the same integrated welding, eyeleting, and cutting capabilities as the flagship All In One banner finishing machine, the All In One Edge is aimed at medium-sized companies at a fraction of the cost. The company will also launch new sewing automation capabilities for textile finishing with the TexWiz sewing module.

A neat addition to the range is the Winder360, designed to automatically rewind banners from the All In One, creating efficient workflow. The fourth new solution on display is a new media roll lifter for Jumbo rolls in the form of the JumboMAX 1,000kg. Building on PLASTGrommet’s range of media roll lifters and media storage solutions, this new product enables large-format printers to easily move large rolls of media around the shop floor.

Robotic cutting and automation company Elitron (Hall 27 – Stand C50), will have the multi-function Kombo THC conveyor cutting system with two cutting heads, together with their optional automatic Elitron Feeding System (EFS) on display.

The EFS comes in different widths to suit the full range of Elitron cutting systems and can also be configured with the SDS Seeker System vision technology which automatically searches for and centres the printing references marks directly from the underside. Both systems will be demonstrating multi-application cutting and milling for roll materials and rigid sheets, and the team will be on hand to talk you through the optional roll holders, the EFS, Elitron Feeding Systems and the ESS, Elitron Stacking Systems for unloading.

Elitron tooling options, including V-Cut Plus for multi-degree & multi-material applications, the award winning, patented DL45 tool for single pass 90° V-cutting for compact cardboard and honeycomb materials, will also be shown at Fespa.
