The printer was complemented by several Neolt finishing options to enhance their production of bespoke digital wallcoverings
Newmor, a specialist in wide-width fabric-backed vinyl wallcoverings, has expanded its digital production capacity with the installation of a Canon Colorado M5W printer, complemented by several Neolt finishing options. Newmor anticipates this strategic investment will enhance speed, quality, and production efficiency in their production of bespoke digital wallcovering solutions.
Increasing demand for bespoke digital wallcoverings
The demand for custom digital print solutions has grown significantly, requiring Newmor to invest in technology that delivers precision, scalability, and design flexibility. After extensive market research, the Canon Colorado M5W, paired with Neolt finishing equipment, emerged as the ideal solution to support the company’s ambitions.
Speed was a major factor in the investment decision. The Colorado M5W is Canon’s flagship printer in its M series of modular UVgel printers. Its ability to run jumbo rolls has transformed production, allowing for significantly increased output and reduced lead times.

“The Canon Colorado M5W enables us to produce high-quality digital prints at scale, offering exceptional creative flexibility with features like white ink, gloss, matt, and spot print finishes. This allows us to enhance our in-house designs while meeting the needs of architects, interior designers, and clients seeking unique, high-impact wallcoverings,” says Tracy Jones, Newmor’s Studio and Digital Production Manager.
“We can now print larger volumes, faster than ever before, without compromising on quality. This puts us in a stronger position to meet tight project deadlines while remaining competitive in the digital print market,” she adds.
The Neolt finishing options
To maximise efficiency and streamline workflow, Newmor has integrated multiple Neolt finishing solutions, which play a critical role in automating post-print processes.
“The Neolt finishing equipment has been transformative for us,” says Tracy, who adds, “by eliminating manual trimming and reducing handling errors, we’ve drastically improved both speed and accuracy. This means our digital wallcoverings not only look exceptional but can also be delivered to our customers faster.”
The automation of finishing processes has resulted in higher production volumes, reduced material waste, and lower operational costs, making the overall workflow more efficient and cost-effective.
Seamless workflow integration
The Canon Colorado M5W and Neolt combination has been carefully integrated into Newmor’s existing production set-up that includes Mimaki printers and a robust digital print workflow.
“CMYUK went above and beyond to ensure our requirements were fully. Its expertise in digital print technology meant we had complete confidence in this investment, and the installation process was smooth from start to finish,” says Tracy.
A futureproof investment
This investment is just the beginning of Newmor’s long-term digital expansion strategy. As demand for digital print solutions grows, the company is committed to staying ahead by continuously evolving its technology and capabilities.
“The digital print market is evolving rapidly, and we are determined to grow alongside it. With the Canon Colorado M5W and Neolt finishing solutions, we have the tools to push the boundaries of wallcovering design, meet the demand for rapid production, and reduce wastage, making our operations more sustainable in the process,” explains Tracy.
Newmor regards this latest investment round with CMYUK as a stepping stone towards further digital innovation, with plans to expand production capabilities even further in the future.
Tracy comments, “This just the beginning. We’re excited about what’s ahead and look forward to offering even more innovative and sustainable digital print solutions for commercial interiors.”
