The Zünd G3 stood out to Discount Displays for its advanced features, modular tooling system, and reliability.

Croydon based Discount Displays has installed a new Zünd G3 L-3200 Digital Cutter. For over 35 years, Discount Displays has built a reputation for providing premium display solutions and strives to maintain competitiveness in a dynamic market. The decision to choose Zünd followed an extensive review of other cutting systems. The Zünd G3 stood out for its advanced features, modular tooling system, and proven reliability.

Reflecting on this upgrade, General Manager Giles Fletcher shared the key reasons behind selecting Zünd. “Our previous Zünd PN Cutter has served us impeccably for 17 years without a single issue, which speaks volumes about the brand’s reliability. Beyond that, Zünd’s well-established support infrastructure in the UK gave us confidence in making this investment. It aligns perfectly with our philosophy of avoiding shortcuts—buying cheap often means buying twice, and Zünd eliminates that risk with their unparalleled build quality.”

The new Zünd cutter represents a leap forward in capability and efficiency. Its advanced integrated camera technology reduces setup times, enhances precision, and ensures consistent quality throughout the production process. Adding a 1kW router tool allows Discount Displays to produce custom Foamex and Perspex lettering or logos in-house, reducing reliance on external suppliers and improving turnaround times. Furthermore, the G3’s ability to handle materials up to 110 mm thick opens new opportunities to work with diverse materials..

Sustainability is also at the heart of this investment. The G3 is equipped with new creasing tools designed to produce recyclable cardboard displays for exhibitions and point-of-sale setups, supporting the increasing demand for environmentally responsible solutions. This aligns with the sustainability goals of Discount Displays and its customers.

“This investment is more than just a machinery upgrade – it reflects our commitment to the future,” Giles added. “The Zünd G3 L-3200 will enable us to explore new creative avenues, improve efficiency, and uphold the high standards our customers expect. It’s an exciting step that positions us for continued growth and success.”
